Hello everyone, we're back with a release at long last:
Ocha Nigosu Volume 06 Chapter 52
Now then, we aren't exactly alive yet, a lot of the Translators, Redrawers, Typesetters and Cleaners have left/disappeared. What this means is we need NEW HELPERS... A LOT OF THEM. For those who are going to send in applications to help with HANZA SKY, you MUST know HOW TO CLEAN MAGAZINE RAWS. If you do not, we will probably not accept your application as we actually don't really have anyone who can teach you.

ReplyDeleteThey are working together with other groups to complete that massive project and they picked up where bite me left off with full credit and with thanks toward them, So Why all the hate?
They didn't even mention us, all they did was tell other people to "go find the previous 16 chapters from wherever the hell they were".
ReplyDeleteThe worst part, we mostly stopped the project because Wright from Happy Scans told me he was going to take it from us with help from another group in the first place.
In the end, I don't really care since I plan to go back and do all of Jack again eventually anyways. But to say this was done out of the kindness of their heart isn't exactly right either.
Can't seem to edit posts, but the only one to actually thank us was Dynamic Pro, and that's because I know the guy from that group and he's actually a bro. So as far as I'm concerned, HnG and Happy need to step it up in terms of "thanking".
ReplyDeleteI think its a bit rich to moan. Now Kaiji is back with fkmtkrazy, I remember how much 'thanks' the old WCD team got from you guys. They didn't take offence and were just happy to see it scanned.

But there's a bit a difference there since we(mostly Nethandle) offered to help them out at the time, and they declined. So Nethandle and Momo in the group decided that if they(FKMTKrazy) didn't want to do quality work, they would do it with PBM! and I told them that was fine, but it would be up to them to get it done and I wouldn't be held accountable if they stopped/ran into trouble. Unfortunately both got overwhelmed with IRL stuff and had to stop.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, with Jack, we were just told by Wright that "We're taking the series, no matter what" and had no say in the matter. Heck Wright even went out of his way to make sure I couldn't get contact info with the other group he had planned at the time to help him.
We've never actually been pricks against other groups, we first at least try to go about things fairly so everyone wins, rather than just take it.
Heh you could have kept working on Jack but you dropped it by your own choice. Also before if I remember, you tried to pin the reason for dropping it on GWR.. be a man and stop blaming others for your own bad decisions...
ReplyDeleteI couldn't continue working on Jack because of Wright saying(at the time) that he was going to do it with GantzWaitingRoom. I tried to get in touch with the leader of GantzWaitingRoom and Wright made sure it was a giant hurdle to even talk to the guy and I never really got the chance to talk it over with them or anything. Since I could not contact them, Momo(who was working both for me and Wright with HappyScans) completely lost motivation for Jack, not wanting to work on it if someone else was just going to do it anyways.
ReplyDeleteOn top of that, it was mostly just me and MahjongWhoreAnge doing the cleaning and typesetting for Jack, and we both knew how large GWR was at the time, and knew that even if Momo had kept going, we wouldn't be able to guarantee we could keep up with GWR.
Anyways, it wasn't exactly my decision to drop it, it was a mix of Wright shit talking and threatening us, Momo losing motivation because he not only didn't want to compete with GWR over Jack, he probably didn't want to cause any drama with Wright over it since he was working with Happy at the time.
And before the whole "Well you should've just gotten a new TL/more workers" argument, we did try(and still do) to get new people to help us and we rarely, if ever get responses. And when we do, I usually do response but then I get nothing or the person decides they have no time.
Anyways, I see now Wright was talking out his ass/had some issues with Gantz Waiting Room, which is why he must be doing it with Hokuto no Gun and Dynamic Pro.
TL;DR:
I'm simply saying that Jack is being done out of bad intention by Wright. It doesn't really matter how/why/who was involved in us dropping it, only that we were mostly forced to drop it or deal with unnecessary drama.

ReplyDeleteHmmm this all sucks... I like that Wright guy and the stuff he does, but that's kind of dumb thing to do. Hokuto no Gun think they're the best group or w/e yet their forums are empty as shit and no one barely comments. That's because they're acting like assholes the whole time and simple posts like "Hey guys, you're doing an amazing job and i was wondering would you be willing to work on (fill title)?" might result in ban. Huge assholes right there. Are you seriously intending to work on Jack now that's been "taken"? Sounds pointless. Don't do it. What's the current status of the group? Would you be willing to teach me do one of the things that you require people to do?

ReplyDeleteof a 14 week photoshop class, by the end i hope to be proficient enough to help as much as possible. actually i think i've picked up quite a bit already so maybe in the next 3 or 4 weeks i may be capable of helping.
